Corrections Policy
At CGWall Sports, our primary goal is to provide accurate, comprehensive, and verified sports news to our audience. However, in the fast-paced world of sports journalism—where scores change in seconds and trade rumors fly instantly—errors can occasionally occur.
We believe that transparency is the foundation of trust. When we make a mistake, we acknowledge it, correct it promptly, and communicate the change to our readers.
1. How to Report an Error
We welcome feedback from our readers, sources, and the athletes we cover. If you believe you have found an error in one of our articles, please contact our editorial team immediately.
-
Email: contact@cgwall.com
-
Subject Line: Correction Request – [Article Title]
-
What to include: Please provide the link (URL) to the article, describe the error, and if possible, provide the correct information or a source (e.g., official NFL/NBA stats page).
2. Our Approach to Corrections
Once an error is reported, our Editorial Board (led by our Editors in Bilaspur, India) reviews the claim against primary sources (official league statements, video footage, or direct quotes).
A. Factual Errors (Major) If a substantive error is made (e.g., incorrect score, wrong player identified, misquoted statement, or inaccurate trade details), we will:
-
Update the article with the correct information immediately.
-
Add a Correction Note at the bottom (or top) of the story explaining what was changed and when.
Example of a Correction Note: Correction: An earlier version of this article incorrectly stated that Patrick Mahomes threw for 400 yards. The official stat line was 350 yards. This article was updated on Dec 25, 2025.
B. Minor Errors (Typos) For minor errors that do not change the meaning of the story (such as spelling mistakes, grammatical errors, or broken links), we will correct the text without a formal editor’s note to ensure a smooth reading experience.
3. Updates vs. Corrections
It is important to distinguish between a “Correction” and an “Update.”
-
Correction: Fixing a mistake we made.
-
Update: Adding new information as a story develops (e.g., “Update: The team has officially confirmed the injury status…”). Updates will be marked with a timestamp to show readers that the story is developing.
4. Retraction Policy
In rare cases where an article is found to be fundamentally flawed, completely false, or violates our ethical standards, we may choose to retract the story.
-
The original headline will remain with a [RETRACTED] tag.
-
The text will be replaced with an editor’s note explaining why the story was removed.
-
We do not “stealth delete” articles to hide mistakes.
5. Social Media Corrections
If an incorrect story was shared on our social media platforms (Twitter/X, Facebook), we will either edit the post (if the platform allows) or delete the original post and publish a new one with the correct information and a note acknowledging the error.
