The Philadelphia Eagles suffered a tough loss on Monday night against the Los Angeles Chargers. The final score was 22-19 in overtime. Quarterback Jalen Hurts struggled throughout the game and committed five turnovers. This performance included four interceptions along with a lost fumble.

Hurts spoke to reporters after the game about his performance. He admitted that he did not play well enough to secure a victory. The quarterback noted that there were too many turnovers during the contest. He also mentioned that the team missed several opportunities to score points. Hurts said they failed to reach the end zone even after crossing midfield multiple times.

The game featured a rare sequence where Hurts turned the ball over twice on a single play. He threw an interception to defensive lineman Da’Shawn Hand in the second quarter. Hand fumbled during the return and Hurts recovered the ball. The quarterback then fumbled it right back to the Chargers moments later. This marked the first time since at least 1978 that a player committed two turnovers on one play.

Hurts finished the night with 21 completions on 40 attempts for 240 yards. His passer rating was a low 31.2 for the game. Head coach Nick Sirianni also addressed the media regarding the defeat. He stated that the loss was painful for the entire team. Sirianni emphasized that the turnovers were uncharacteristic for their offense.

The coach accepted responsibility along with his quarterback. Sirianni said they must coach and execute better in future games. This defeat marks three consecutive losses for Philadelphia. The offense has not scored more than 21 points in a game since Week 8. Running back Saquon Barkley provided some spark with 122 rushing yards but the passing attack faltered.

Hurts insisted that he must find a way to help the team win. He refused to make excuses for the poor showing on Monday night. The Eagles still hold a strong position to win the NFC East despite the recent struggles. They will look to bounce back and improve their offensive chemistry in the coming weeks.
