2. Sourcing Standards

Credibility begins with the source. Our writers are instructed to prioritize primary sources whenever possible.

  • Preferred Sources: Official league statements, post-game press conferences, direct player interviews, and official statistical databases (e.g., NFL Next Gen Stats).

  • Secondary Sources: If we reference a report from another media outlet (e.g., ESPN, The Athletic, or local beat writers), we explicitly credit the original publication and provide a backlink.

  • Social Media: Social media posts by athletes or teams are verified for authenticity (blue checks/official accounts) before being used as news.

3. The Editorial Process (Workflow)

To maintain quality control, every article published on CGWall Sports goes through a multi-step review process:

  1. Pitch & Assignment: Writers pitch story ideas based on current trends, or editors assign topics based on breaking news.

  2. Drafting: The writer researches and drafts the article, ensuring all data is accurate.

  3. Fact-Checking: The writer verifies scores, dates, names, and quotes.

  4. Editorial Review: A Senior Editor (based in our India HQ) reviews the piece for tone, clarity, accuracy, and adherence to our style guide.

  5. Publication: Only after approval is the story published.

  6. Post-Publication Review: We monitor reader feedback for potential corrections.

4. Originality & Plagiarism

We have a Zero Tolerance Policy for plagiarism.

  • All content must be original.

  • Copying text directly from other websites, press releases, or AI generators without attribution or transformation is strictly prohibited.

  • Writers found plagiarizing will be terminated immediately.

5. Bylines & Anonymity

  • Transparency: Every article includes the name and bio of the specific writer. We do not use generic bylines like “Admin” or “Staff” for major news stories.

  • Guest Posts: Guest contributions are clearly marked.
